The
mermaids called the downtown
sidewalks of St. John's home until the
end of September, taking in the
exciting sights and sounds of their new
surroundings in the oldest city in North
America.
Easter Seals

guide that includes a map
pinpointing the location of each mermaid

the artist who brought her to life.

Passport to Prizes!
Each walking guide also contained a
passport. As people walked the mermaid trail,
they were encouraged to visit the participating passport
locations and have their passport
stamped. Weekly prize draws were
conducted with prizes courtesy of O'Brien's Whale and Bird
Tours, Candy Bouquet, Aliant and The
Fairmont Newfoundland Hotel.
On September 30, 2006 at the Mermaid
Ball and Auction, one passport was drawn
- the lucky winner received a
weekend ski trip for two, including
airfare, accommodations, rental car and
ski passes at Marble Mountain, courtesy
of Provincial Airlines.
